Bexhill Observer, 27 November 1926. A single column headed 'Keeper of the Fire' and 'Bexhill lady at Folkmoot festival', with a photograph of Miss Muriel Gray standing among trees in a long belted tunic, her hair in plaits. The note recalls that during the mayoralty of her father, Alderman Gray, she helped entertain the South African and Canadian officers then training at Bexhill, and says that she is now a prominent member of the Order of Woodcraft Chivalry, Somerset branch, described as a society for the promotion of the study of nature and the practice of the simple life in the open air.
