About this item
Photograph, 19 May 1988. Photographic print of Maxine Sanders in Manor Gardens, Bexhill Old Town, dressed in black with a small hat and lace gloves, holding a cigarette and leading a whippet on a chain lead across the grass, with the flint walls of the Manor House ruins behind. Taken around the wake after Alex Sanders' funeral, and printed in 'The vacant throne', item 188, captioned 'Maxine, Alex's ex-wife'. The museum lists the print as 'Maxine Sanders'. It was taken outside what was then the Costume Museum, item 212.
