THREE WITCHES HIT BAD LUCK
By EDWARD VALE
Isle of Man, Tuesday
A PLANE bringing three witches to the Isle of Man from London was struck by bad luck today . . . only a few miles from the home of their rival, the self-styled Queen of the Witches.
As the “Witches Special,” a Canbrian Airways Viscount, was coming in to land its wing flap mechanism failed.
This meant returning to Liverpool, where there is a longer landing strip.
The witches changed planes. And their next plane landed safely.
I was with them on both flights. And I was able to question them about their feud with their so-called Queen, Mrs. Monique Wilson.
Mrs. Wilson claims that she gained the title in the will of Dr. Gerald Brosseau Gardner, 80-year-old leader of Britain’s witches, who died last month.
Title
The three visiting witches will not be visiting Mrs. Wilson's cottage during their trip to the island.
Said middle-aged Mrs. Ray Bone, high priestess of a London coven: “I have no intention of seeing Mrs. Wilson. I have never spoken to her and am not anxious to.
“There is no such title as Queen of the Witches.”
