WHITE WITCH LEAVES £25,000 TO WOMAN
A SELF-CONFESSED white witch has left the bulk of his £25,000 estate to a woman who claims to be a high priestess of witchcraft.
Dr. Gerald Brosseau Gardner, of the Isle of Man, died last month, aged 80.
Mrs. Moniqu[e] Marie Mauricette Wilson, of Perth, is left £1,500, plus “machinery, plant, works, papers, articles and manuscripts relating to magic, and the equipment used by me in connection therewith.”
After minor bequests, Mrs. Wilson will get Dr. Gardner’s museum of magic and witchcraft, the Witches' Mill at Castletown, and the residue of the estate.
On doorstep
Mrs. Wilson, her 40-year-old husband, Campbell, a former clerk with the Scottish Gas Board, and their eight-year-old daughter, Yvette, left Perth yesterday for Isle of Man.
On the doorstep of their prefab house was left an old-fashioned broomhead and an empty bottle marked “Toad’s Venom.”
Mrs. Wilson claims to be the high priestess of a Scottish coven of witches.
