Bexhill Observer, 21 September 1946. A column of the advertisement pages. Below the foot of a local advertisement for 2 Western Road, Bexhill, a Guinness advertisement carries a large five pointed star drawn within a circle and asks the reader whether the figure can be drawn in one continuous line without crossing over any other part of the line. Beneath it the copy runs that if at first you don't succeed you should try, try, try a glass of Guinness when you're tired, beside a drawn glass of stout. The figure is a puzzle rather than a symbol, printed in a Bexhill paper twenty seven years before Alex Sanders arrived. Bexhill Museum item 031.
