'What, No Witches!', Bexhill Observer, 17 January 1959

Bexhill Observer, 17 January 1959. A boxed paragraph reporting that Mr Peter Button, manager of the Playhouse Cinema, had been searching Bexhill for suitable bewitched material to tie in with the new film Bell, Book and Candle, a comedy about witches with James Stewart and Kim Novak, showing at his cinema from the Thursday for three days. His search was in vain. 'I can't even find a broomstick, let alone a witch,' he said, adding that he would have to find a magic spell to encourage patrons not to miss the comedy.
