'Vicar conjures up magic and mystery', Bexhill Observer, 23 February 1963

Bexhill Observer, 23 February 1963. Report of a luncheon meeting of the Association of Bexhill Citizens at the De La Warr Pavilion, addressed by the Rev Dr H. S. Box, vicar of St Barnabas Church and a Gold Star member of the Inner Magic Circle, who spoke on conjuring as a hobby. The Mayor and Mayoress were among those present. Box said that he first took an interest in conjuring nearly fifty years earlier, described how a competent conjurer makes an audience believe he is doing the impossible, and told them that 'the whole thing is fraud, trickery and deceit'.
