Colour slide, 1962. The junction at the top of the High Street in Bexhill Old Town, looking towards St Peters Church, whose shingled tower shows above the roofs. On the left, set back behind a brick wall and a hedge, stands the white house that is Chantry Cottage. In the middle is the weatherboarded shop known as the Little Bee Hive, its window hung with tobacco advertisements, and to the right the awning of J. L. Pocock, family butcher, established 1801. An A259 sign and a Keep Left bollard stand in the road. The Bexhill street directory first lists Betty Britton at Chantry Cottage in its 1974 edition. Bexhill Museum item 054.
