Bexhill Observer, 13 July 1974. Follow up to the personal advertisement printed two weeks earlier, which is reproduced alongside. The man behind it was Mr Alan Hussey of the Old Town, Hastings, whose photograph runs at the foot of the column. He told the paper that he had studied various aspects of the occult for five years and wanted to meet someone who could teach him more of the esoteric arts, and that if he could gather a group he hoped to establish a temple in Hastings where rituals could be carried out without outside interference. He did not think of himself as a witch but as a novice magician: 'Witchcraft is a word commonly used in ignorance.'
