The cat by the cauldron, Chantry Cottage, 2 July 1974

Photograph, 2 July 1974. A tabby and white cat walks across the brick floor of the temple at Chantry Cottage, tail up, passing the small iron cauldron that stood at the centre of the circle. The cauldron is filled with burning incense and bound about with plaited cords whose ends and tassels lie on the bricks. At the top of the frame are the bare feet of those standing round it, one pair in jeans, another beneath the hem of a pale robe. The museum lists the print as 'Cauldron and Cat'.
