About this item

Photograph, 23 April 1975. Wider view of the altar photographed in item 108, from the evening of the ceremony reported by the Bexhill Observer on 26 April 1975. The carved wooden chest carries flowers in vases, goblets, dishes and candles, with a wand and further tools laid along its top. On the floor in front are the chalk star, the open book with its page of notes, candlesticks, the knotted cord and the mannequin head in a headscarf. A whip and daggers can be made out among the tools. The museum lists the print as 'Altar, Chantry Cottage', numbered 19. Byline: Jimmy Burke. Bexhill Museum item 109.
