Bexhill Observer, 24 September 1987. Report of the theft of nineteen candles, including the Paschal candle, from St Peter's Church in Bexhill Old Town on a Thursday afternoon when no church-watchers were on duty. The verger, Mr David Scott-Bromley, who discovered the theft, is quoted: 'Hallowe'en is coming up and this seems to be the work of the Black Magic brigade.' The loss of the Paschal candle, lit from the new fire at Easter, was described as particularly upsetting. The article does not mention Alex Sanders or the coven. Kept in the same file.
