A short item in the Mr Manchester's Diary column with a full-length photograph of Maxine Sanders in a mini-dress, boots and dark glasses: 'Witches were never like this in my childhood books.' It notes that Maxine, former high priestess of a Manchester coven, had married its high priest, Alex Sanders, and that they now lived in London with their six-month-old daughter, Maya. Alex was lecturing on magic and witchcraft and advising film producers on horror films. 'For all our success, we still miss the North.' Mr. Manchester's Diary [Photograph of Maxine Sanders] Witches were never like this in my childhood books. MAXINE SANDERS, looking far removed from broomsticks, is the former “high priestess” of a Manchester coven of witches who married the “high priest,” ALEX SANDERS, and they now live in London with their six-month-old daughter, MAYA. Mr Sanders lectures on magic and witchcraft and advises film producers on authenticity for horror films. He says: “For all our success, we still miss the North.”
