'Medium investigates glowing wood', Bexhill Observer, 23 October 1971

Bexhill Observer, 23 October 1971. Follow up to the glowing wood reports. Mr Barry Turner, a medium from Hastings, visited the woods behind the Whydown Place Hotel on the Saturday with a party of onlookers to find the source of the influence he believed had infected the wood. The photograph shows him pointing into the trees, captioned with his remark that the evil vibrations are coming from over there. He said he had seldom felt the presence of evil so strongly, and claimed to locate the site where, in the Dark Ages, rituals and possibly human sacrifices had been performed. The paper's reporter, invited to stand over the spot, noticed chiefly that the ground was very boggy. Bexhill Museum item 049.
