Report that Alex Sanders was leaving Bexhill, Bexhill Observer, 11 May 1974

Bexhill Observer, 11 May 1974. A short column, with a photograph of Alex Sanders bowed over a womans hands in the temple, reporting that he was leaving his wife and his Bexhill base in the Old Town. The paper writes that he had known his twenty seven year old wife since she was seven months old, that he came to Bexhill the previous summer to get away from the bustle of London, and that he was arranging to buy a flat in Kensington, minutes from her Notting Hill home. It quotes him saying that they were still good friends. The implication that he was leaving a shared home is inaccurate: Alex and Maxine Sanders had separated in 1971 and she had remained in London.
