'Witches' king in black magic battle', Bexhill Observer, 26 April 1975

Bexhill Observer, 26 April 1975. Full-page report by Gilbert Pool, with pictures by Jimmy Burke, under the strapline 'Gilbert Pool Witnesses Coven's Bexhill Ceremony'. Prompted by Maxine Sanders' recent articles in the News of the World, the reporter met Alex Sanders and members of the coven in the Bell Hotel and went on to a ceremony in the temple at Chantry Cottage. The paper presents the evening as Sanders matching his power against a blond man from Hastings whom it calls a black magician, each seeking to influence a teenage member of the coven, who was then to carry a message to Maxine Sanders. Sanders left the room part way through and the ceremony ended inconclusively; the high priestess said 'We do not work without our priest.'
