'Witches are just "normal people" says Old Town', Bexhill Observer, 3 May 1975

Bexhill Observer, 3 May 1975. Sarah Hicks reports the views of Old Town residents and shopkeepers on the coven, after the paper's story of 26 April 'aroused such public interest'. Most of those interviewed were content to accept their neighbours: the newsagent's wife called them 'just normal people', an antique dealer described Alex Sanders as 'sober, quiet, well behaved' in public, and Mrs Dorothy Dunning of the Little Bee Hive shop said they were ordinary customers. Two shoppers said they found witchcraft frightening. A photograph of the cottage where the coven met, with the tower of St Peter's Church behind, runs with the piece; the print is item 120.
