Bexhill Observer, 17 May 1975. Betty Britton, of Chantry Cottage, Old Town, named here as high priestess of the Bexhill coven, replies to the town clergy's warning of 3 May. She applauds the Church's fight against evil but hopes it will not 'plunge the country back into the Dark Ages of prejudice', asks why the clergy declined an invitation to attend a ceremony, denies belief in Satan or any desecration of churches, and challenges the ministers to publish the source of the three vows they… attributed to witches. She closes: 'We will quietly continue to practice our craft of Alexandrian Wicca, with the guidance of our teacher, Alex Sanders'.
