Bexhill Observer, 29 October 1977. Penny Young, with pictures by Jimmy Burke, reports on a preview of the coven's Hallowe'en fire ritual held at Alex Sanders' temple in the Old Town on the Wednesday evening. She met Sanders, his apprentice John and a group of followers in the Bell Hotel before going to the house; the preview 'was also being staged for the benefit of German and Southern Television cameras'. John explains that Hallowe'en marks the death of the God for the year and the opening of the gates between this realm and the spiritual. Three photographs show Sanders checking the ritual at his book, watched by Alan Barnett as a dagger is dipped into a chalice, and 'his high priestess and two followers' in a trance.
