About this item
Photocopy of a handwritten letter, 25 October 1981, on the printed letterhead of the Bexhill Council of Churches, whose chairman is given as the Rev G. T. Bryant of St Augustine's Vicarage. Addressed to the Church of the Occult Science at 110 Lewisham Way, New Cross, it encloses the resolution passed by the Council on the proposed occult shop, notes that the Council includes over twenty churches numbering several thousand people, and asks the Church to 'take note of this and not proceed'. Signed G. T. Bryant, Chairman. The copy reached the Bexhill Observer as an enclosure with the Church of Occult Science's letter of 28 October 1981, items 142 to 144.
Bexhill Museum item 145. Bexhill Observer cutting held in the Bexhill Observer archive at Bexhill Museum.
Shown in UNSEEN: The Alex Sanders Archive at Bexhill Museum, Part Two, What the Town Did With It (26 August 2026), presented by Julian Porter of Bexhill Museum and hosted by Sharon Day for Alexandrian Witchcraft.
