About this item

Photograph, c.1983, Southern Photo News. Black and white print of two figures in feathered costume outdoors on open grass, with a parked car and a distant fence behind. One, seen in profile, wears a tall headdress of feathers and grasses and a white robe with a beaded collar and raises a fan of long feathers; the other, back to the camera, is covered from head to foot in a cloak of dark feathers with pheasant plumes rising from the head. The museum's file identifies them as Alex Sanders and Derek Taylor, queries the place as Galley Hill, and records nothing further beyond the word 'Feathers'. No accompanying article has been found in the file. Bexhill Museum item 157. Held in the Bexhill Observer archive at Bexhill Museum. Shown in UNSEEN: The Alex Sanders Archive at Bexhill Museum, Part Three, The Vacant Throne (6 September 2026), presented by Julian Porter of Bexhill Museum and hosted by Sharon Day for Alexandrian Witchcraft.
