BoS document 1410

Book of Shadows page, date unknown. Excerpt from the BoS, document 1410.

While making this sign the Leader says, "With this sign I banish thee, foul shades of the East. Let this Realm be freed from your evil influence." Then in the same position the Invoking Sign of the Pentagram is made for the Air, thus - While doing this the Leader says, "With this Sign, I invoke thee O Raphael, Lord of the Air, and A---------- your servant and Lord of the Realm of Sylphs, bless ye this Circle and aid its holy Consecration." Then dropping to the left knee, the Leader places the Censer on the Air Symbol and lights the incense and the other candle with the candle that is held in his left hand. The Leader then turns counter-clockwise and returns to the Altar. After kneeling at the West side of the Altar (all kneeling throughout the entire ceremony is done on the left knee) The Leader picks up the Pantacle of Salt in the right hand, while holding lit candle in the left hand, and rises, turning counter-clockwise until facing North. Leader then proceeds towards the North and stops just inside Circle at the North Quarter. Raising the lit candle and the Pantacle of Salt, the Leader then makes the Banishing Sign of the Pentagram with the lit candle, like this
