Dear Alex
Please find enclosed catalogue of Lighting effects from Stage Control Limited. I am making further urgent enquiries into the spotlights for you, these are available for sale or hire. Further information is on its way - IS ENCLOSED.
I feel the best thing to do would be for you to choose the equipment that you require and then to hire it for a short period to make sure it is suitable before buying. The hire charges are reasonable!
Regarding the music - Music Centres by reputable companies start at about £220. However these include a radio and have a low volume (about 17-20w). The quality of the tape deck is also suspect! More money will get you better quality, but you still have the radio (more cost) and low volume, and of course money does not grow on trees.
I recommend that separate units would be better and have composed the following high quality - simple to operate (witch proof!) system.
First the bad news.
Record deck - Pioneer - (You could get a cheaper deck e.g. Garrard SP25 MK5 for about £35).
Amplifier - Pioneer SA506 (2x25w) £85
" - " SA606 (2x40w) £115
Tape deck " CTF 4040 Dolby £120
or " " - Teac A103 " £119
Anyway, total cost is going to be about £260 + Speakers. If all purchased in a shop.
Now the Good News. The Pioneer products listed may be available to me at a discount and I am doing my best to get it for you.
As soon as I receive more information I will send it to you, or give you a ring. See you on the 27th July.
Love & Blessed Be.
Barry

I am an automatic
Strange object spotted at 11.25. Rectangle in shape. Traced to sauce, chef pilot tending microwave oven. Think sighting due to enforced sublimation of sex in Bexhill Old Town.
Notes:
- This is a practical, everyday letter from a named correspondent, Barry, discussing sound and lighting equipment for what appears to be stage/ritual use — a rare example of purely logistical correspondence in this collection.
- Page 11277b is a direct quote from "The Goon Show" (BBC radio comedy), specifically the episode "The Jet-Propelled Guided Naafi" (1956), spoken by the character Major Bloodnok — a bored, sexually frustrated officer stationed in a quiet British seaside town who mistakes a splash of sauce on his radar screen for a rectangular UFO. This is a comedic quotation, not original content, and not connected to the main letter's subject matter.
Authorship note:
Page 11277a is straightforward: a single named author, Barry, writing a personal/practical letter, signed and dated. Page 11277b is a verbatim quotation from a published radio comedy script (The Goon Show) — not original authorship by anyone connected to this archive.
