2429A 28th [month/year uncertain — reads "75," likely a misreading given the letter's reference to a work not published until 1978/1979; worth checking against the original] Dear David, As per usual - thank you for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. You are exactly what I say:- a mean, furry-haired bastard. But that is, by the way, you and I understand each other whilst I sit and dictate this vindictively to Derek, my scribe, whose qualities I saw ten years ago and almost destroyed him in his pilgrimage to the centre of the holy and sacred temple of his own body. Persevere, David. It won't come easily, nor will it be easy when you have got it. Strengthen your backbone. Use your greatest quality - the gift the God's + Goddess gave to you. It is called manhood. How can she shine for you if you allow her to subdue and dominate you. Learn to be truly selfish, fill yourself with love and drench her with it. Overpower her first with your spirit, then with your manhood, and remember, child of earth, what she saw in you and fell in love with, don't let her remould it to her heart's desire. Keep pure your highest ideal + strive ever towards it, let naught stop you or turn you aside. These words, David, are the words of the Great Mother and not mine. Run to Her, little boy, She will give you all the comfort that you need. Have you not yet guessed the name of the Goddess. Her name is Mother Crow and you are her son of [Glot?]. [illegible] I am also Her servant + my service is in Her in Priesthood. Serve Her, She will help you + through Her I will advise you + set you upon your true journey. Now for a moment, you bitch, how dare you expose yourself to my poor little Gilly. I believe you have enough foreskin to make a pair of curtains for the Palladium or the Palace of Vanitys. This is your true test of initiation. When you have made them, use the remnants to make yourself a bonnet to cover the fuzz but don't let Jill Derby stroke it. You will look stupid with an elephant's trunk for a hat. All my special love + greetings from your Witch Queen + greetings too from D[illegible] Blessed Be Alex Notes: - "Mother Crow" as a goddess name is thematically consistent with the Morrígan, a Celtic goddess of war and fate associated with crows/ravens — though this is not stated explicitly in the letter, and the name here may be a deliberately coined epithet rather than a direct reference. Authorship note: This document contains explicit, direct textual evidence of its own authorship arrangement — Alex Sanders states outright that he is dictating the letter to "Derek, my scribe." This is a clean, confirmed example of an amanuensis (a scribe writing down another person's words): Alex Sanders is the author of the words; Derek (the scribe) contributed no original composition of his own. Author: Alex Sanders.
