G-1098 STORES CHECK All ranks are to return all G-1098 items including webbing, equipment, sleeping bags and ponchos to BQMS within the next 14 days. These items are required in order that a 100% check can be made before camp. 4. COOKS There are 2 vacancies for cooks in the Bty and need to be filled before camp. Any member of the Bty who is interested in retraining for these posts should contact the Bty office as soon as possible. 5. CLOTHING It is important that all combat kit, trousers, lightweight and other clothing is cleaned and pressed for camp. If Bty personnel require kit to be cleaned it should be handed into the BQMS soonest for cleaning. 6. DISCIPLINE — HAIRCUTS AND DRESS All personnel must have their hair cut for camp. Hair is to be off the collar, sideburns are not allowed below the ear lobe. Moustaches are not allowed to droop below the top lip. Earrings and necklaces are to be removed. The BSM is to ensure a high standard of dress; he will send all members of the Bty for a short haircut on Monday 23 June if they have not carried out this order by first parade Saturday 21 June. 7. BATTERY RIFLE TEAMS Anyone who is interested in being considered for the Bty rifle team should let either Mr Paget, Sgt Hughes, or the BQM know as soon as possible. A number of weekends will be run for SA training. [REVERSE SIDE — handwritten trance/invocation text, page marked "7" in corner] I am army recruit of the [ ]. My name Gemma. Always I take care of the men. I am the nurse of mankind. I have saved many men from destruction. I am Gemma of the Amber. I am Gemma of the Shells. I am Gemma of the Temples. I am Gemma of the Amethyst. Always I am a Virgin. I am Gemma of the Shells. Now I come to you [ ], Beloved, and you and I sneaked past the guards to go [ ] whilst they had dinner. [N Brother?], I [that you chosen exile kept you very?] perfect the interests of Neph Kam. I, Gemma, most secret, most high, will bring your [ ] to become legal High Priestess of the Lord of the Watchers on the horizon. I am Gemma of the Pearls. I have been tainted by fear. I come to save, to protect, but always I am Virgin. Notes: - The front page is a genuine, real-world typed document: official orders for 200 (Sussex Yeomanry) Field Battery, Royal Artillery, a real British Army Reserve (Territorial Army) unit, dated 23 May 1980. This appears to have been reused as scrap paper for the handwritten trance content on its reverse — unrelated in content to the rest of this collection, but a genuine historical artifact in its own right. - "Gemma" is the Latin word for "gem" or "jewel" — the repeated structure "I am Gemma of [gemstone/material]" (amber, shells, amethyst, pearls) directly reflects this meaning, consistent with the aretalogy-style "I am..." invocations seen elsewhere in this collection (e.g. the Isis speech in MoW_Doc6952.pdf, Batch 2). - "Neph Kam" may relate to "Khem," an ancient name for Egypt referenced elsewhere in this collection (mow2369i1.jpg, Batch 1), though this connection is not certain. - The page is marked "7" in the corner, suggesting it may be one page from a larger notebook or sequence not otherwise present in this folder. Authorship note: The front page (Battery Orders) is an official military document by Major P.G. Headey, unrelated to Alex Sanders or this archive's usual authorship questions. The handwritten reverse is first-person trance/channeled speech in the voice of "Gemma" — consistent with other trance material in this collection, though the diarist recording it is not identified by name here.
