About this item

Bexhill Observer, 7 April 1984. Picture page by Lawrie Webber, under the strapline 'Showcase of talent on display at ABC winners concert', on the Association of Bexhill Citizens' annual prize winners' concert at the De La Warr Pavilion, at which every performer had won a class at the Hastings Music Festival. Gillian Sanders' performance of Chopin's 'Fantaisie Impromptu' is singled out, and the largest photograph, captioned 'A concert performance from Gillian Sanders', shows her at the piano; the print is item 161. The rest of the page covers the other performers and the Helen Green Memorial Awards. No mention of witchcraft: Gillian Sanders appears here only as a pianist. Byline: Lawrie Webber. Bexhill Museum item 160. Bexhill Observer cutting held in the Bexhill Observer archive at Bexhill Museum. Shown in UNSEEN: The Alex Sanders Archive at Bexhill Museum, Part Three, The Vacant Throne (6 September 2026), presented by Julian Porter of Bexhill Museum and hosted by Sharon Day for Alexandrian Witchcraft.
