Photograph, 2 July 1974. Betty Britton crouches barefoot over the cauldron in a shining dark robe, drawing the plaited cords out from it and holding them clear of the burning incense. A young man in a white robe with a long string of beads kneels at the right, working at a knot in his own cord, and another figure in a pale robe bends over the cords at the left, with a third standing at the upper right in a robe with a braided hem. The flowers and wheat ears of the altar show at the top left corner. The cords run out of frame to the other members of the circle. Bexhill Museum item 078.
