About this item
Photograph, 2 July 1974. Six members of the coven stand in a line across the temple, a white cord and a plaited cord drawn taut between their hands. From the left: a young man in a pale robe; Betty Britton in a shining dark robe, a cigarette between her fingers; a young woman in a white robe with a braided neckband and an ankh; a woman in a black robe with white facings; a young man in glasses and a white robe; and a fair haired young man at the right. Candles burn in wall sconces on either side and a white panelled door stands behind them. All are barefoot on the brick floor.
