About this item
Photograph, 2 July 1974. Betty Britton stands at the right in a gold robe with wide sleeves, both hands on the hilt of a dagger which she lowers point down into a tall metal goblet. The cup is held up in both hands by a fair haired young woman in a dark robe, seen from behind. Behind them is the brick chimney breast with a small framed print of figures beneath a tree and a candle burning in an iron sconce above it. The altar stands in the fireplace at the left with its flowers, wheat ears and silver candlesticks, and decorated plates rest on the ledge at the side.
Bexhill Museum item 082. Print from the Bexhill Observer photographic archive at Bexhill Museum.
Shown in UNSEEN: The Alex Sanders Archive at Bexhill Museum, Part One, The Town That Was Already Listening (9 August 2026), presented by Julian Porter of Bexhill Museum and hosted by Sharon Day for Alexandrian Witchcraft.
