Bexhill Observer, 10 August 1989. Letter from Kevin and Ingrid Carlyon of the Covenant of Earth Magic, 16 Cross Street, St Leonards, replying to the churchmen quoted in the report of 3 August, item 203, and in particular to the Reverend John Chater's remark that he did not understand the difference between black and white witchcraft. They write that as practitioners of Earth Magic they believe in a neutral spiritual force that can be tapped through positive thought for beneficial purposes, and that 'all living things are part of the God and Goddess and that the power is within'. They deny holding orgies, offering sacrifice or worshipping sex and greed, and call on the clergy to use their prayer power for the planet. The writers were not of the Alexandrian coven.
